One text, by Walsh and Hoyt (1), notes briefly that the eyelids may be involved in localized or generalized scleroderma and that lagophthalmos (incomplete lid closure) may ensue.This case is reported to warn internists that isolated eyelid edema (Figure 1) may occur in patients with few or subtle signs of systemic scleroderma and that blindness may result unless the corneas are protected from exposure keratitis.A 43-year-old black man was...References1.
