Resumo

Benzene electropolymerization in the Bu4NBF4-oleum-CH2Cl2 system has been investigated. It was shown that on Pt, Ni, Al and Ti electrodes flexible films of poly(p-phenylene) could be obtained. Studies of the polymerization process under different electrochemical conditions are presented. Oleum addition removes water traces and promotes film doping. Oleum passivates the surface of ventile metals (Al, Ti). However, the oxide film formed does not prevent benzene oxidation. In addition, the data on IR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy are discussed.
