ResumoA discussion is made of the performance improvement to be brought about by the adoption of a linear pulse motor (LPM) as the actuator of an assist device. The LPMs dealt with have a stator (primary member) mede of silicon steel sheets in the laminated structure. Combinations of this stator with each of three kinds of movers (secondary members) were subjected to experimental examination for the LPM performance. The combination of the stator made of laminated silicon steel sheets and a mover made of permendur displayed the best LPM performance.
