ResumoIn 2011 we did a pilot study, in Tsuro Oguido School, in Londrina- PR with 14-16 years old students. From this experience we elaborate a exploratory study, which we put in practice in 2012, in the same School, with students with the same age. Those studies allow us to think in the intervention performed in class in the form of lecture-workshop (BARCA, 2004). As source to work in history teaching we choose the music, because it has multiple relationships with popular culture, enabling realize the social and historical perspective in a given context. Seeking to develop a differentiated classroom we brought to the classroom music singer Raul Seixas: guided by two reasons, the first was an attempt to flee stereotyped figures of Brazilian popular music, when it refers to the period of military dictatorship, present in textbooks such as Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso and Geraldo Vandré. The second is because this singer has a diverse musical genre, combined with the fact that his lyrics have social criticism about the period.
