Resumo

High-velocity penetrating visceral injuries are a common cause of morbidity and mortality in the US and, to a lesser extent, in the UK. Although these cases are normally assessed by a trauma surgeon, radiology plays a major and increasing role in the management of these patients. This case report describes a gunshot victim in a London hospital, and shows how a number of imaging methods can be used in the diagnosis, treatment and management of complications of high-velocity penetrating gunshot wounds.
