Resumo

A new species of Microchilus, endemic to Colombian Department of Putumayo, named Microchilus ormerodianus is described here. The new taxon is related with M. sprucei from which it is easily distinguished by long floral bracts, ovate sepals, ligulate-oblanceolate, shortly acuminate petals and cylindrical-ellipsoid spur.
