Resumo

The effect of γ-ray collimation geometry in measuring Mössbauer absorption spectra is studied quantitatively. It is found that the spectra undergo an expansion around zero velocity and the more the collimator allows high flows of γ-rays, the more important is the expansion. Equations are proposed to correct for this effect.
