Resumo

The possibilities for separation and determination of iron-, osmium-, titanium-, and aluminum-tiron chelates by high performance liquid chromatography/electrochemical detection were investigated systematically. Using methanol/water containing phosphate buffer and tetrabutylammonium hydroxide (TBA-OH) as the mobile phase at a flow-rate of 0.8 ml/min, iron and osmium, iron and titanium, titanium and aluminum, and iron and aluminum separated completely and were detected electrochemically at + 1.2 V (vs SCE). By changing the pH in the mobile phase, we can selectively detect iron, titanium, and osmium in a large amount of aluminum. Large amounts of foreign ions did not interfere with the separation and detection of the four metal ion chelates described.
