ResumoFORTY years after its discovery by the French veterinarian Ramon1 there are still controversial opinions and unexplored facts about the use of tetanus toxoid. Basic investigation of certain aspects is still lacking.For some of the main points a great deal of experience was gained during World War II. This experience proved the practically complete protection conferred by tetanus toxoid as well as its total harmlessness.
