ResumoIn the discussion of our paper on Postglacial sea levels in eastern Australia, Gill and Hopley (1972) do not consider more recent studies which suggest that seaward flexure has not significantly affected the elevation of coastal deposits of Holocene age in central and northern New South Wales, and perhaps southern Queensland. Furthermore, they do not recognize the difficulties of interpreting sea level change from relic deposits, which may have been formed with sea levels close to the present.
