ResumoThe zinc titanate composite nanofibers were prepared using electrospinning method combining sol–gel process followed by calcining the precursor PVP/Zn(CH3COO)2–Ti(OC4H9)4 fibers under air in the temperature range of 400–700 °C. The nanofibers were characterized by thermal field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal gravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG–DTA). FE-SEM micrographs indicated that the surfaces of the nanofibers are uniform and smooth and the diameter of the fiber decreasing as the calcination temperature increasing. It is also found that ZnO–TiO2 ceramic fibers including ZnTiO3, Zn2TiO4 and rutile phase were synthesized by calcining the precursor PVP/Zn(CH3COO)2–Ti(OC4H9)4 composite fibers at 700 °C.
