Resumo

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical outcome of patients with failed SLAP repairs after subsequent treatment. Thirty-seven shoulders were included in a retrospective cohort review. Each was treated with conservative therapy and/or revision surgery. In conclusion, we found that precise indications for SLAP repair remain unclear. In the older age group, the presence of a SLAP lesion may represent normal aging, and not pathology. We found that patients often continued to have a poor clinical outcome after prior SLAP repair that required further surgical intervention.
