ResumoAbstract Carotid artery stent placement is the procedure of choice in suitable candidates who require carotid revascularization and are at increased risk for surgical therapy. To ensure late patency of the stent, continued surveillance is required. We present three cases to illustrate the strengths and weaknesses of noninvasive imaging techniques for surveillance of carotid stents, ultimately validated with invasive contrast angiography. © 2006 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
