ResumoAbstract Differential thermal analysis of two series of aluminum soaps–aluminum stearates of different compositions, and aluminum soaps from various parent fatty acids–are carried out, and transition temperatures and the heats of transition are obtained. Each transition point is assigned to a certain change in the structure of the soap or to the soap composition. The structure of the the soaps and the mechanism of soap formation are also discussed, based on the differential thermal analysis and infrared data.
