ResumoThe Mediator complex acts as a bridge, conveying regulatory information from enhancers and other control elements to the basal RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. Mediator is required for the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and post-translational modifications of specific Mediator subunits can affect global patterns of gene transcription.
