Resumo

classroom. was 17 years old before I realized the power of film as a communicative medium. One evening during my senior year in high school, a group of about 20 of us went to the local cinema to see Woody Allen's Manhattan. Toward the end of the film, the Woody Allen character has a serendipitous moment. He is talking into a tape recorder, recording ideas for a short story he is writing. He begins to muse about what makes life worthwhile Groucho Marx, Willie Mays, and Louie Armstrong's recording of Potatohead Blues (Allen & Brickman, 1982). And then he suddenly stops. He adds, Tracy's face. We cut to the next scene, and he's running through the streets of Manhattan, with Gershwin music (Strike up the Band) accompanying him on the soundtrack. We track along with him as he runs for blocks. He is running to catch up with Tracy before she can leave town.
