ResumoBy using the Peltier effect it is possible to measure the transport properties of thermoelectric materials. This so-called Harman method exhibits the advantage of measuring the properties of a sample without any change in preparation. Until now this method has only been used up to 100 degrees C. An apparatus and a preparation procedure is described to use this method in the temperature range 50-800 degrees C. Measurements of FeSi2 and higher manganese silicide (MnSix) are given.
