ResumoNothing whatsoever is known of the endocrinology of crustacean metamorphosis. In spite of the recent advances in our knowledge of growth-controlling systems of the malacostracans, and the increasing certainty of the close parallels between the major arthropod groups, there is little save conjecture to report about metamorphic control. This is certainly a transistory situation. It is reasonable to expect this gap to be filled, and it is the aim of this review to stimulate work to fill it.
