Resumo

Este artigo apresenta revisão bibliográfica sobre o inseticida Metamidofós, incluindo suas características físico-químicas, riscos e casos de contaminação/intoxicação. Aborda os aspectos toxicológicos e analíticos do princípio ativo, apresentando as principais técnicas empregadas na determinação deste pesticida organofosforado em diferentes matrizes. Potencialmente tóxico, o Metamidofós vem sendo empregado na agricultura mundial por ser eficaz no combate a diversas pragas. Conclui-se que a validação de métodos rápidos e seletivos é a grande preocupação na análise de Metamidofós e de pesticidas em geral. ORGANOPHOSPHORUS INSECTICIDE METHAMIDOPHOS: TOXICOLOGICAL AND ANALYTICAL ASPECTS Abstract This article presents bibliographical review about Methamidophos insecticide, including its physical-chemistry characteristics, dangers, intoxication and contamination cases. It shows the toxicological and analytical aspects of the active principle, showing the main analytical techniques employed in the determination of such organophosphorus pesticide in different matrices. Potentially toxic, Methamidophos have been used in word crop for its efficiency to combat several kinds of pests. It was concluded that fast and selective methods validation is the biggest concern in Methamidophos and general pesticides analyses.
