Organometallic Complex Synthesis and Catalysis

Infrared and far i.r. room temperature spectra of solid square planar mono(ethylenediamine) halide complexes of Pd and Pt are obtained. Group vibrations are assigned with the use of two C-deuterated compounds. A comparison of factor group and site group analyses shows that the former is necessary to explain the finer details of the spectra. Crystal data of [PdenCl2] and [PtenI2] are reported.
