ResumoAlthough sebaceous glands are prominent on the vulva, sebaceous carcinomas of the vulva rarely occur. In fact, there have been only two cases of sebaceous carcinomas of the vulva reported in the literature. Eighty percent of vulvar cancers are squamous in origin with human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA detected in approximately 60% of these cancers. We present a third patient with sebaceous carcinoma of the vulva and the first to our knowledge that has been analyzed for HPV DNA. The case report and a review of the literature are presented.
