ResumoTwo patients with idiopathic priapism are described. Some aspects of the use of surgical by-pass are discussed. The obstruction to venous return from the corpora cavernosa in priapism, its treatment by venous by-pass, and the ultimate development of a new venous drainage from the corpora, are demonstrated by cavernosography. Even when priapism has existed for a number of days, surgical venous by-pass will induce detumescence and may preserve potency.
