The absorption spectra of living anionic oligomers of α-methylstyrene with lithium, sodium and potassium counterions have been recorded at temperatures down to −100° in tetrahydrofuran (THF) and −50° in tetrahydropyran (THP). The spectra have been interpreted in terms of an equilibrium between contact ion-pairs and solvent-separated ion-pairs. For sodium counterions in THF, equal concentrations of the two species are present at −73°. Les spectres d'absorption d'oligomères anioniques “vivants” d' α-méthyl styrène avec des contre ions lithium, sodium et potassium ont été enregistrés dans le tetrahydrofurane (THF) à des températures inférieures à −100° et dans le tetrahydropyrane (THP) à des températures inférieures à −50°. Les spectres obtenus ont été interprétés en faisant intervenir un équilibre entre des paires d'ions en contact et des paires d'ions séparées par le solvant. Dans le cas des contre ions sodium, ces deux espèces sont en mème concentration à −73° dans le THF. Gli spettri sono stati interpretati nei termini di un equilibrio tra coppie di ioni a contatto, e coppie di ioni separate dal solvente. Per controioni di sodio in THF, sono presenti concentrazioni uguali delle due specie a −73°. Die Absorptionsspektren von lebenden anionischen Oligomeren des α-Methylstyrols mit Lithium, Natrium und Kalium Gegenionen wurden bei Temperaturen bis zu −100° herunter in Tetrahydrofuran (THF) und bis zu −50° in Tetrahydropyran (THP) aufgenommen. Die Spektren wurden gedeutet im Sinne eines Gleichgewichts zwischen Kontakt Ionenpaaren und vom Lösungsmittel getrennten Ionenpaaren. Bei Natrium Gegenionen in THF liegen bei −73° gleiche Konzentrationen beider Arten vor.
