Resumo"Reflets de Cannes" is the first show of the French television about movies, and the only one dedicated to the Cannes Film Festival, by interviewing stars, and showing backstage footage devoted to the event, the gala evenings, the competing films, and everyday life in Cannes. The Festival and the show "Reflets de Cannes" have had the same purpose to capture the public's attention through the movie stars, and the show is the best material to explore the place of the stars as an advertising tool for the event. If the show was part of the star system by developing the relationship between the star image and films, it is interesting to understand how the Festival used the stars as official flag bearer. We show how the Cannes Film Festival, via "Reflets de Cannes," contributed to the development of the star system in France. Through the dual aim of the event—say the anchorage of the Festival on the international stage by hosting the "greatest" and make the festival attractive by their presence—we analyze what presentations(s) and representation(s) of stars were proposed by the show.
