As a child running home from school after the last day of classes, the smell of freshly cut grass is deeply carved in my memory. Many years later it still evokes the excitement of expanding possibilities. The summer of a child is so vast and full of potential that the start of the next school year is not even a blip on the radar. These days it seems that I have only recently set up the grill for summer cookouts when the leaves are starting to turn and winter is on the way.
