It is more potent than Cimetidine and has not been reported to cause complications, especially agranulocytosis (1).An 86-year-old white woman was hospitalized on 8 May 1985 with fever. Seven weeks earlier she had had an uncomplicated takedown of a colostomy. At that time, abnormal hepatic function tests and hyperglycemia were noted, but a complete blood count and differential were normal.
