The Pa-fraction and the Th-fraction of UX were separated using an IMAC C 240 ion-exchange column. Carrier-free UZ sources could be prepared contaminated with only 0.8% of the radiations of UX1 and UX2. The half-life of UX2 was estimated to be 1.175 ± 0.003 minutes.
