Resumo

Assuming the salient mimetic capacity of Jorge Ben Jor songs, thisarticle analyzes one of his music: País Tropical. Two different versionsare studied, one of Wilson Simonal and the other one of Tropicalism, bothof 1969, aiming at verifying the speech redraft process, patriotic in thefirst one and allegorizer of the nationalism and the products of culturalindustry in the second one. It is remarkable, over all, a path of redefinitionexceeding the simple interpretative variability, inherent to any object of analysis, but especially characterized by the authentic way the song is transformed to, and not just by, the context.
