Resumo

The main goal of this paper is to propose an interpretative context for the hidraulic networks of the Roman gold mines of Northwestern Spain, taking into account the administrative, iuridic and social aspects of the Roman control. This includes a general analysis of the forms of organisation of provincial territories and the management of the ager publicus. We also propose a new interpretation of the inscriptions of Las Medulas canals.
