A prototype of a mode switch for automatically programming a summing computer into “add” and “subtract” modes of operation on electrical command is described. The instrument occupies little space and is relatively inexpensive. In addition to providing add-subtract programming, the unit also is capable of short-circuiting the input to a computer channel so that reference response to a single stimulus can be obtained. Manual operation of the “add” and “subtract” computer functions remains unhampered. Un prototype d'un genre de commutateur pour programmer automatiquement un calculateur en fonctionnement additif ou soustractif, avec une commandeélectrique est décrit. L'appareil n'occupe que peu de place et reste relativement peu cher.
