La fitoterapia popolare in Val Borbera (Appennino Ligure)

Riassunto Il presente lavoro riporta i risultati di un'indagine sulla fitoterapia popolare svolta in Val Borbera (Appennino Ligure, provincia di Alessandria) negli anni 1976/1978. Le entità impiegate dagli abitanti della valle ammontano ad 83, fra quelle usate singolarmente ed in miscugli; esse appartengono a 35 famiglie; il loro elenco, redatto in ordine sistematico secondo Flora Europaea (1964–1980), riporta anche i dati fitoterapia di ognuna. Nove specie risultano nuove per la moderna fitoterapia popolare italiana; ad altre 14 entità, più o meno diffusamente impiegate in Italia, gli abitanti della Val Borbera hanno attribuito proprietà curative finora non segnalate da altri autori. I centri fitoterapia di maggior interesse sono Volpara, Figino, Cadisi e Carrega Ligure. This study reports the results of a research on popular phytotherapy, which was carried out during the past few years (1976–1978) in Val Borbera, in the Ligurian Apennines, province of Alessandria. The species and subspecies used by the inhabitants of the Valley amount to 83, including entities used both individually and in compounds; they belong to 35 families. Their inventory, drawn up in systematic order in accordance with TUTIN, HEYWOOD et al. (1964–1980), also records the phytotherapeutic uses of each of them. Nine species are new as regards Italian modern popular phytotherapy; these are: Ostrya carpinifolia, Dianthus seguieri, Sedum anacampseros, S. reflexum, Cytisus sessilifolius, Linum viscosum, Anthemis altissima, Carduus litigiosus, Centaurea alpestris. Fourteen entities, already known to traditional Italian medicine, have been attributed with properties which up till now had not been pointed out by other authors; these are: Pteridium aquilinum, Quercus pubescens, Dianthus carthusianorum, Onobrychis viciifolia, Fraxinus ornus, Stachys recta subsp. recta, Origanum vulgare, Ocimum basilicum, Sambucus nigra, Artemisia absinthium, Centaurea scabiosa, C. nigrescens subsp. nigrescens, C. uniflora subsp. nervosa, Allium sativum.
