ResumoThis research aims to investigate the effect of using electric arc furnace (EAF) steel slag as coarse aggregate in concrete. Properties of fresh and hardened concrete were evaluated for five concrete mixtures with different grades (30, 50 and 70 MPa), and the inclusion of supplementary cementing materials (SCM) such as fly ash class F (FA) and silica fume (SF). EAF steel slag beneficially affected the engineering properties (i.e. physical, mechanical and durability) of the produced concrete. Also, it would be more beneficial if the grading of the produced EAF steel slag is controlled and adjusted to better improve the quality of the produced concrete.
