ResumoPURPOSE: This study aimed to check the comparison of the physical fitness level of professional and young soccer players according to performed positions during the match. METHODS: In order to do this, 28 professional players and 24 young soccer players at Santos Futebol Clube were assessed and divided in five positions: goalkeepers (GO), defenders (DEF), defensive midfield players (DMP), full – backs (FB), midfield players (MD) and attackers (ATC). To collect the results we used the threshold anaerobic velocity (TAV), maximal power (MP), fatigue index (FI) and vertical jump (VJ). To obtain the analysis of the results, “t” student test to independent samples and p and the midfield players when analyzed fatigue index. CONCLUSIONS: Therefore, we can conclude that the professional soccer players have a bigger requirement of the physical variable (maximal power and fatigue index) when compared with young soccer players in the same position.Table
