Resumo

Seed protein patterns of nine species, representatives of the genera Stetsonia, Cereus, Hardsia, Opuntia and Tephrocactus were analyzed by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The results show that the protein pattern for each species is stable independently of the place and date of collection of the samples. The taxon interrelationships found by a multivariate numerical analysis agree with modern taxonomical evaluation of the family.
