ResumoThe expression of a relatively small set of common primary response genes is frequently induced, in a variety of cellular responses, by growth factors, protein hormones and neurotransmitters. The characterization of these genes and their products may provide clues to the mechanisms by which ligand- and cell-specific responses may be generated.
