ResumoThe cells of the outer root sheath of hair follicles of young mice undergoing a sebaceous transformation were observed under the electron microscope. “Empty” circular profiles, presumably derived from lipid inclusions, and mitochondria containing dense granules 400–800 Å in diameter, were seen in the cytoplasm of these cells. These features distinguished the sebaceous cells in the outer root sheath.
