ResumoAbstract We consider spin-glass models, Ising spins as well as classical m-vector spins, with long-ranged Gaussian random coupling constants. We show that the spin-glass phases of Sherrington and Kirkpatrick (Ising spins) and Edwards and Anderson (vector spins, m = 3), which are obtained using the replica trick, exist but are unstable below the freezing temperature. We discuss the stable phase with higher order and lower free energy.
