Resumo

The formation of solid solutions Ln2−xBixTi2O7, where Ln = La to Lu and Y, except Ce, Pm, and Eu, has been studied by Raman spectroscopy and to a lesser extent by X-ray diffraction. It has been established that the solubility of bismuth increases with decreasing ionic radius of the lanthanide element. No evidence was experimentally found in this work for the existence of Bi2Ti2O7.
