He was awarded outstanding paper prizes in 1960, 1970, 1975 and 1987, respectively, and outstanding book prizes in 1968 and 1972. He also received Distinguished Power Engineer Medal in 1974 and a Centennial Memorial Award in 1988, all from the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. He served as an Editorial Director (1972–1973), Vice President (1983–1984) and President (1989) of the same institute. He is currently the chairman of Japanese National Committee of CIGRE, an I.E.E.E.
