ResumoThe mathematical formulation of problems in electric circuit theory, structura engineering, and dynamics by the “state-vector” approach leads to a matrix differential equation of the form dSdx = A(x)S(x) + φ(x). This paper presents a useful method for the approximate solution of the matrix differential equation subject to initial and two-point boundary conditions. The general procedure is illustrated by applying it to the study of non-uniform electrical transmission lines of a general type.
