ResumoDoes biology paper in the baccalaureat examination require candidates to use the reasoning of experimental science ? The baccalaureat biology exam was modified in 1969, in order to test the intelligence rather than memory of candidates. In his doctorat thesis, Babacar Gueye gives an inventory of the subjects proposed in Senegal (the same reform having been officially adopted there in 1977) and proceeds to classify them according to the themes, elaboration, presentation and in greater depth the conception of these subjects. This article, based on the second part of the above thesis, and using a number of examples, shows up the hiatus between the intentions expressed in the official texts and the actual practice of the baccalaureat exams.
