Resumo

A series of new uranium complexes incorporating dicarbollide ligands (C2B9H112-) has been synthesized. The uranium(IV) bis(dicarbollide) complex [Li(THF)4]2[U(η5-C2B9H11)2Br2] was obtained from the reaction of UBr4(NCMe)4 with 2 equiv of Li2C2B9H11 in THF, and its structure determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Similarly, the uranium(III) complexes [U(η5-C2B9H11)I2(THF)2]- and [U(η5-C2B9H11)2I(THF)]2- were isolated from the reactions of UI3(THF)4 with different dicarbollide salts, and the structure of the related dimethyldicarbollide complex [(Ph3P)2N][U(η5-C2Me2B9H9)I2(THF)2] determined by X-ray crystallography.
