Resumo

Abstract Reaction of [Bun4N][ReOcl4] with two equivalents of the bidentate (1−) oxygen/sulphur donor ligand N,N-diethyl-N′-benzoylthiourea (DEBTH) or the sulphur/nitrogen donor ligand N,N-diethyl-N′-benzoyliminothiourea (DEBITH) in dry methanol leads to the formation of the neutral complexes [ReOCl(DEBT)2] (1) and [ReOCl (DEBIT)2] (2). The X-ray crystal structure of 1 shows the complex has a pseudo-octahedral geometry with the oxo and chloride ligans in cis positions. Complex 1 reacts with substituted anilines, ArNH2, to give the imido complex [ReCl(NAr)(DEBT)2] in good yield and with PPh3 to form the rhenium(III) complex [Re(DEBT)2(PPh3)2]+. The spectroscopic and electrochemical properties of these complexes are discussed.
