ResumoAccumulation of contrast medium in the falx and tentorium has produced apacification of these structures during cerebral angiography. The incidence of falcial opacification after cerebral angiography was 46% in a series of 50 children and 55% in a series of 100 adults Opacification of the tentorium was noted in 20% of the children and 1% of the adults. Dense opacification of the falx has been noted for up to 25 minutes after intravenous pyelograpy. Similar falcial opacification has been produced experimentally in puppies. Tissue-counting and autoradiographic studies with 125I-Renografin demonstrated what appeared to be diffusion of tracer from the vascular system into intersitial spaces of most tissues. The extravascular accumulation of labeled contrast medium in falx, dura and tentorium was much higher than in the brain.
