Resumo

The thermodynamics and kinetics of hydrogen absorption in the intermetallic compounds Zr(Cr1 − xVx)2 (x = 0; x = 0, 2; x = 0, 4) were analysed. Owing to the low absorption pressure, the high rate of absorption and the low sensitivity of the absorption capacity to gas impurities (O2, H2O, N2) (if a concentration of 0.1 vol.% is not exceeded), these intermetallic compounds can be utilized as reversible getters and can serve as a means of storage of hydrogen isotopes.
