Resumo

The following list of drugs that require hepatic monitoring first appeared in our drug information newsletter. The list was compiled by our drug information department—based on commonly asked questions—and is not intended to be all-inclusive. Much, if not all, of the information is available from package inserts and other sources of information. There aren’t any clinical pearls here, simply a compilation of most drugs for which monitoring of liver function tests (LFTs) is recommended. As always, sound clinical judgement must be exercised when deciding if an individual patient needs LFTs; therefore, monitoring depends on the casespecific needs and circumstances. Readers are welcome to e-mail additions, corrections, deletions, or comments. REFERENCES 1. Micromedex Health Care Series; Englewood, CO; Micromedex Inc. Expires December 2000. 2.
