The personality questionnaireMini-Mult was administered to 53alcoholic and 20 non-alcoholic patientswho were candidates for LT, and was re-administeredto 18 alcoholic and 4 non-alcoholicpatients at 1-3 months after LT.Abnormal values in at least 1 of the8 clinical Mini-Mult scales were observed in62% of alcoholic patients. However, no significantdifferences were observed between alcoholicand non-alcoholic patients in relationto the intensity and frequency of abnormalMini-Mult values. In those alcoholic patientsre-evaluated shortly after transplantation, therewas not a significant improvement in any ofthe Mini-Mult scales, with the exception ofscale K (self-image).Alcoholic patients candidatesfor LT show common alterations in someareas of the personality but the intensity ismoderate and without significant differenceswith respect to non-alcoholic patientsalso evaluated as candidates for LT.
