Resumo

The J-dependence of ln = 3 transitions in the (d, p) reaction has been studied at Ed = 8 MeV, 10 MeV and 12 MeV. Consistent J-dependent effects are shown to be present at forward angles and are used to define a criterion for spin assignments. The J-dependent effects at backward angles are more difficult to define. The J-dependence observed is similar but not identical, to that observed in the (p, d) reaction. It is observed that the role of configuration mixing is not important at forward angles.
