Resumo

Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome is a rare congenital disorder in which multifocal venous malformations affect predominantly the skin and gastrointestinal tract. Other soft tissues and sometimes bone can be involved. The diagnosis is usually indicated clinically by the presence of distinctive cutaneous, dome-shaped, purple-blue vascular malformations. Tc-99m red blood cell (RBC) imaging helps delineate the extent of involvement and enumerate visceral lesions. It may also be useful for screening other family members, because this may be an autosomal-dominant disorder.
