Resumo

Pigments of vanadium dioxide VO2 were inserted in a polymeric coating to analyse the optical thermochromic behaviour linked with the semiconductor-metal first-order transition at 341 K. Pyranometric equipment was adapted to study the variations of artificial solar radiation as a function of temperature, volume fractions, and grain size. The optical transition of VO2 pigments was observed and a Beer-Lambert model is proposed to interpret the amplitude of flux variations. The thermochromic behaviour of the composite coatings can be optimized.
